SELAH, Wash. — Regulation, overtime and a shootout round couldn’t resolve it but a sudden-death shootout round finally did.

Outscoring West Valley 7-6 in a shootout session that went into extra kicks, Selah outlasted the Rams for a 1-0 victory in a CWAC district boys soccer match Saturday at Karl Graf Stadium.

Selah’s junior goalkeeper Joel Dallman made seven saves, including one in the shootout, and West Valley’s Jacob Alvarez made eight stops.

Selah (9-8) moves on to the semifinals and will play at No. 2 seed Toppenish (10-5-1) on Tuesday at 5 p.m.

West Valley finished its season at 7-9-1.

OTHELLO 3, ELLENSBURG 2 (SO): At Othello, the Huskies rallied from a 2-0 deficit and prevailed in the shootout 3-2 in the first-round, loser-out district contest.

Cristian Barrientos and Benjamin Stockdale scored goals in the first 20 minutes to help Ellensburg open the early lead. The Bulldogs finished the season 10-7.

Othello (13-4) advances to the semifinals and will play at top-seed Grandview (10-5) on Tuesday.

WAHLUKE 2, MABTON 0: At Wahluke, Ramon Bravo scored twice in the first 18 minutes and the defense held on from there in the first-round, loser-out match.

Wahluke (14-3) advances to the semifinals and will play at Granger (14-2) on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Royal won Saturday’s other first-round match, beating Warden 6-1. The Knights (11-6) will play at Highland (14-2) in Tuesday’s other semifinal.

The championship and third-place finals will be held Thursday at Royal.
