MABTON, Wash. — Desanay Guerrero had a monster game and the Mabton Vikings produced a huge fourth quarter Saturday night against Granger.

The Vikings, who trailed by a point entering the final period, got 23 points and 24 rebounds from Guerrero and surged to a 68-48 victory in a SCAC West contest.

Solia Zaragoza scored 14 points and Cassidy McCallum added 10 for Mabton, which squared its league record at 1-1 and improved to 4-1 for the season. The Spartans slipped to 1-1 and 4-2.

Mabton outscored the Spartans 27-6 over the final eight minutes after themselves being outscored 18-5 in the third period.

The Vikings had taken a 24-11 first-quarter lead and were ahead at halftime by a score of 36-24.

Guerrero, a 5-foot-7 sophomore, was 11 of 18 from the foul line while Zaragoza grabbed eight rebounds for Mabton.

Lindsey Carpenter scored eight points and collected six rebounds for Granger and Alyssa Nash had eight boards.
