William Wayne Armstrong, 84, of Yakima died Thursday.
He was born in Checotah, Okla., and retired from the Air Force after 22 years at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, Calif. He also was the manager of the Nut Tree Airport in Vacaville, Calif., and a pilot for Butte Gas & Oil in Bakersfield, Calif.
Survivors include three daughters, Jean Reynolds, Cathy Penny and Pamela Latin, all of Yakima; two brothers, Art Armstrong of Lincoln, Calif., and Don Armstrong of Arizona; a sister, Doris Smith of Tempe, Ariz.; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday at Tahoma Cemetery. Arrangements are by Shaw and Sons Funeral Directors of Yakima.
