GRANDVIEW, Wash. — Daniel Bogart scored in the first half and assisted in the second half as Cheney ended Grandview’s postseason shutout run and defeated the Greyhounds 2-0 in the Class 2A state soccer quarterfinals Saturday afternoon at Rich Leenhouts Stadium.
Bogart assisted Micah Weller’s tally in the 60th minute to give the Blackhawks a 2-0 advantage.
Cheney (18-2) will take a 15-match win streak into the state semifinals on Friday in Sumner. The Blackhawks’ last three wins have been against CWAC teams Toppenish, West Valley and Grandview.
The Greyhounds, who finished 16-4, had outscored four postseason opponents 11-0.

SEATTLE CHRISTIAN 4, HIGHLAND 3: At Orting, Grant Fremmerlid scored two goals to bring his season total to 30 and Josh Gehrke had three assists to help the Warriors build a 4-0 lead in the quarterfinal match.
Freshman Duvan Vaca and senior Miguel Muniz scored goals for Highland, which finished the season 17-3. Vaca’s tally gave him 18 for the year.
Seattle Christian (18-1) advances to the semifinals in Sumner next Friday and will face Okanogan at 2 p.m. Chelan and Lynden Christian meet in the second semifinal at 4.
