YAKIMA, Wash. — Do you know a young person who is helping his/her family or community?
The Yakima Youth Awards Committee wants to recognize them at its 20th annual award ceremony April 8.
Any Yakima Valley resident age 5 to 19 who has positively contributed to family or community can be nominated for recognition in six categories: arts; business and enterprise; civic and community service; family life; leadership; and personal achievement.
Awards are also presented in each category to small groups (fewer than nine members) and large groups (10 or more members).
Nomination forms are available on the Yakima Herald-Republic’s website, through KIT Radio or by calling 509-248-4848. Nominations should say what the person or group has accomplished, how it was done, who benefited, and when and where it occurred. Submissions cannot be longer than one page, and the committee will not consider additional materials.
Entries should be mailed to 407 S. 25th Ave., Yakima, 98902, or faxed to 509-248-7923. They must be faxed or postmarked by Friday.
All nominees will be recognized at the award ceremony at 6:30 p.m. April 8 at Davis High School.
