YAKIMA, Wash. — Two organizations will present checks to the ACT! Get Up! Get Moving! childhood obesity program, allowing the program to continue in 2014.
The Safeway Foundation will present a check for $71,120, and Sage Fruit will present a check for $15,000 during a ceremony today at the Yakima Family YMCA.
ACT stands for Actively Changing Together. The program, a partnership of Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital and the Yakima YMCA, is designed to bring children ages 8-14 and their parents together to receive nutrition and physical fitness education.
The ceremony is at 11:15 a.m. at the YMCA’s first floor gymnasium, 5 N. Naches Ave., Yakima.
