Richard C. Smith, 88, of Yakima died Thursday at Cottage in the Meadow. Mr. Smith was born in Yakima and served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He was a deputy prosecutor and later worked in private law practices with many Yakima attorneys, including 20 years with his son, Richard A. Smith. He was also legal counsel for the Landlord-Tenant Association, Yakima Clean Air Authority, the city of Moxee and represented numerous fire and sewer districts.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia; three children, Jill Vaughn, Richard A. Smith and Rebecca Smith; eight grandchildren and agreat-grandchild.
Vigil service will be at 6 p.m. Monday at St. Paul Cathedral. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, also at St. Paul’s. Arrangements are by Keith and Keith Funeral Home of Yakima.
