EDITOR’S NOTE: Thanks to the compassion of countless people in the Yakima Valley, we’ve been able to help the less fortunate through Season of Sharing, which is now in its 12th year. Working through the Yakima County RSVP, local nonprofits have provided information on individuals and families who could use your help. Each day through Christmas, the Yakima Herald-Republic will publish information in print and online about some of those in need.
A family of three needs help. They have just moved into their first house and are trying to start their lives as a new family.
The youngest child is 12 months old and wears size 18-24 months. Winter clothing would be appreciated. Lego Baby blocks would also make him smile. The daughter is 17 years old and wears size 7 pants and medium shirts. She enjoys books, music and DVD movies. Mom wears size 13 to 14 pants and XL shirts.
For their kitchen, the family needs pots and pans, sheets for a full-size bed and laundry soap. They could also use any help with household goods and toiletries.
If you would like to help this family, call LaShaunda Harris at Triumph Treatment Services, 509-248-1800. Donations will be accepted until noon Christmas Eve at 102 S. Naches Ave. Gifts and donations may be dropped off from 8 am. to 6 p.m. Monday-Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays.
