GRANDVIEW — Police on Saturday night locked down Grandview High School after three teenage boys outside the school were found carrying weapons.

The teens were outside the school building while a school dance was taking place about 10:30 p.m. Saturday. Police recovered four knives on one boy, two knives on another, and a toy Airsoft gun on the third.

Police from Prosser, Sunnyside and Mabton and the Yakima County Sheriff’s Office responded to assist in searching the property as a safety precaution. No other armed suspects were found, and the dance was allowed to continue.

Two of the suspects were 16-year-old male Grandview residents, while the third, from Everett, was 15. All three were arrested for carrying dangerous weapons on school property and taken to the Yakima County Juvenile Justice Center.

The names of juvenile suspects were not released.
