Jody Leigh John, 45, of Wapato died at Pasture Point in Klickitat County on Sunday.
Mr. John was born in Toppenish and raised and educated in Wapato. He worked as a commercial fisherman and was an enrolled member of the Yakama Nation.
He is survived by two sons, Leo Speedis of Wapato and Warner Jim of Warm Springs, Ore.; a daughter, Simone Jim of Warm Springs; four sisters, Danette Wyman of Brownstrown, Anne and Lisa Sam of White Swan and Lillian Compo of Wapato; and five brothers, Douglas John of Wapato, Charles John, Cheyney Jon and Jason Compo of Harrah and Anthony Compo of White Swan.
Dressing services will be at 3 p.m. today at the Toppenish Creek Longhouse in White Swan. Overnight services will follow with a funeral at sunrise Tuesday and interment at Yemowat Cemetery in Union Gap. Colonial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
