— The Rural Community Development Resources’ Center for Latino Farmers will hold a 30-hour series of farm food safety educational sessions in January for immigrant farmers and ranchers, the group announced in a news release.

The sessions will educate socially disadvantaged farmers and ranchers on compliance with U.S. Department of Agriculture and industry safety standards for maintaining Washington products in the global market. The series of educational sessions will be conducted entirely in Spanish.

Beginning Jan. 10, each of the seven sessions will be from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Howard Johnson Hotel in Yakima. The remaining sessions are scheduled for Jan. 15-17 and Jan. 22-24.
