John Selzler, 84, of Yakima died Sunday at Cottage in the Meadow.

Mr. Selzler was born in Glencross, S.D., and served in the Navy. He worked in the Yakima Valley in farm equipment, sprayers and later boat sales and service, until his retirement. During that time he worked for Rankin Equipment Co., Mitchell, Lewis and Staver, Hester Equipment and Gatliff’s. He later opened his own business, Selzler Farm Equipment in Yakima and then American Yachts in Seattle. He retired from Sylvan Inc. in Yakima.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Selzler of Yakima; three daughters, Terry Loveless of Renton and Rena Harrington and Dori Weber, both of Yakima; a sister, Frances Schauble of Spokane; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, with a vigil at 6:30 p.m., all at Keith and Keith Funeral Home of Yakima. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Yakima. Private entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, Yakima.
