San Juanita Rivera, 75, of Yakima died Wednesday at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Rivera was born in Cadereyta, Mexico, and moved to the United States in 1964. She first settled in Texas and California before moving to the Wapato area.
Survivors include 12 children, Agueda Rangel, Delia Carrillo, Celsa Rivera, Anita Vargas and Felix Rivera, all of Wapato, Malena Espinosa, Aida Ramirez, Maria Reyes and Jenny Ayon, all of Yakima, Norma Martinez of Granger, Jessie Rivera of Brownsville, Texas, and Elizabeth Balderas of Moxee; 43 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter.
Viewing will be from 2 to 4 p.m. today at Brookside Funeral Home and Crematory in Moxee. A vigil will follow at 5:30 p.m. today at St. Paul Cathedral. Mass of Christian burial will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will follow in Reservation Community Memorial Park.
