Mary Elizabeth (Moree) Wentz was born February 12, 1934 and passed away at home peacefully on Saturday, May 4th, 2013. Just 79 years ago, Mary was born in Brownington, Missouri to Nile and Mary Moree. Mary graduated from Yakima High School in the spring of 1951 and married the love of her life that following December, Arthur J Wentz. They were blessed with five children. Mary was a homemaker and active member of the Holy Family Catholic Church, St. Paula’s Guild and past Vice Regent of the local chapter of the Catholic Daughter’s of America. She volunteered her time as the secretary/ treasurer of St. Vincent’s of Holy Family and volunteered at the food bank. She also enjoyed traveling, horse racing, gambling, flower arranging, gardening, and had an artistic decorating ability.
She is survived by her husband Art Wentz, her five children: Greg (Ronda) Wentz, Leanne (Tom) Hickman, Joe (Chris) Wentz, Teresa (Dan) Baggarley and Dick (Cheryl) Wentz. She is also survived by her sisters Dixie Stevens of Phoenix and Audra Wilmoth of Seattle, 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
The Rosary will be held at Holy Family on Thursday, May 9th 7:00 p.m. with a Memorial Mass on Friday May 10th at 11:00 a.m. at the Holy Family Church, Yakima.
