Jose D. Contreras Jr., 55, of Toppenish died Wednesday at Yakima Regional Medical and Cardiac Center.

Mr. Contreras was born in Caldwell, Idaho. He worked as a bus driver for the Migrant Council.

Survivors include his wife, Alma Contreras; a son, Jose Contreras III; a daughter, Estella Contreras, all of Toppenish; his mother, Evangelina Contreras; four brothers, Juan Contreras of Pasco, Santiago Contreras of Grandview, Jorge Contreras of Harrah and Ivan Contreras of Toppenish; three sisters, Maria Elena Bracamontez of Tijuana, Mexico, Anamaria Montez of Pasco and Olga Lidia Contreras of Harrah; and six grandchildren.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Monday, with recitation of the rosary at 6 p.m., all at Valley Hills Funeral Home, Zillah. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Aloyius Catholic Church in Toppenish. Burial will follow in the Zillah Cemetery.
