Paul Paulakis, 86, of Selah died Thursday at Cottage in the Meadow in Yakima.

Mr. Paulakis was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. He served on the USS Murray during World War II and later worked as a machinist. He lived in Bloomfield, N.J., moving to Selah in 1974. He worked for Irwin Research and Development until his retirement.

Survivors include his wife, Etta; three sons, Nick Paulakis of Sunnyside, Will Paualkis of Yakima and Tom Paulakis of Lynnwood; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Private family burial will be at 10 a.m. today in Terrace Heights Memorial Park. A public celebration of life will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Calvary Chapel, Yakima. Arrangements are by Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside.
