Garland D. “Don” Swart, 86, of Union Gap died Wednesday at Cottage in the Meadows.

Mr. Swart was born in Drummond, Okla. He served in the Navy aboard the USS South Dakota during World War II. He worked for Yakima Cement Products for more than 17 years as a heavy equipment operator.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Swart; a son, Donny Swart; three daughters, Darlene Magnuson, Debra Wright and Dawna Ehrhardt, all of Union Gap; a brother, Bob Swart; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Graveside inurnment will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Tahoma Cemetery, Yakima. Arrangements are by Keith and Keith Funeral Home, Yakima.
