James Dean Rutherford, 92, of Yakima died Tuesday at Landmark Care Center. Mr. Rutherford was born and raised in Yakima and served in the Army Air Corps. He was a farmer for more than 30 years and also worked as a machinist for Dowty-Decoto for more than 13 years.

Survivors include a son, Dan Rutherford of Bothell; three daughters, Kathy Layman of Whidbey Island, Mary Huey of Anchorage, Alaska and Barbara Dauenhauer of Yakima; a sister, Doris McCort; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. March 9 at Ahtanum Pioneer Church, Yakima. Arrangements are by Valley Hills Funeral Home and Crematory, Yakima.
