Macario Rivera, 98, of Grandview died Monday in Hermiston, Ore. Mr. Rivera was born in Nuevo Leon, Mexico, and lived in Grandview more than 52 years.

Survivors include three sons, Jose Rivera and Ricardo Rivera, both of Seattle, and Francisco Rivera of Plano, Texas; five daughters, Consuelo Garcia of Grandview, Maria Elena Veliz, Christina Garcia and Raquel Herrera, all of Hermiston, and Rosa Maria of Kennewick; 35 grandchildren, 72 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Viewing will be from noon to 8 p.m. today, with recital of the rosary at 6 p.m., at Valley Hills Funeral Home, Sunnyside. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Grandview, followed by burial in the Grandview Cemetery.
