Edward J. Wentz, 83, of Yakima died Tuesday at Yakima Regional Medical and Cardiac Center. Mr. Wentz was born in Bowdle, S.D., and served in the Navy during the Korean War. He moved to the Yakima area at age 5. He worked in auto parts sales for most of his life and owned Genuine Auto Parts in Yakima for more than 30 years.
Survivors include his companion, Hilda Flathers; two sons, Robert Wentz and Mikel Wentz; a brother, Arthur Wentz, all of Yakima; three sisters, Marcella Whitish and Minnie Lizotte, both of Yakima, and Cheri Allen of Tucson, Ariz.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday at Valley Hills Funeral Home, Yakima. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Cathedral. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
