Jeanette Mariah Holmes, 74, of Prosser died Monday at home. Mrs. Holmes was born in Lake Andes, S.D., and raised in Prosser. She worked at Disneyland and later on the processing line at Prosser Pack. She also had worked at Benton Ball Funeral Home as a dispatcher for the Benton County Sheriff’s Office. She was one of the first women in the Valley to work as an EMT.
Survivors include her husband, Russell “Rusty” Holmes; three sons, Gordon Holmes, Steven Holmes and Darrell Holmes; a daughter, Natalie McCombs, all of Prosser; two sisters, Jean Sperry and Faye Gefroh, both of Yakima; three brothers, Donald Olson of Arizona, John Olson of Yakima and Cliff Olson of Toppenish; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be in the front yard of her home in early June, when the flowers are in bloom. Arrangements are by Prosser Funeral Home.
