Gaylord Grothe, 89, of Selah died Friday.

Mr. Grothe was born in Thief River Falls, Minn. He lived in Selah for 27 years, after retiring from the Bonneville Power Administration as a journeyman electrician.

He is survived by his wife, Elva Grothe of Selah; two sons, Jim Grothe of Yakima and Rick Thompson of Friday Harbor; two daughters, Diane Reisenauer of Marysville and Karen Herndon of Yakima; a brother, Reynold Grothe of Silver Bay, Minn.; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home in Yakima. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Ward Chapel at First Presbyterian Church in Yakima.
