YAKIMA, Wash. — A Yakima woman was in serious condition following a two-vehicle crash Wednesday evening outside of Selah, authorities said.
The crash happened at 8:15 p.m. at the intersection of Slade Road and Crusher Canyon Road, the Washington State Patrol reported.
Kim Braun, 50, and John S. Shaw, 60, both of Yakima, were taken to Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital for treatment of their injuries. A hospital spokeswoman said that Braun was in serious condition and that Shaw was in satisfactory condition.
Troopers said Shaw was westbound on Crusher Canyon Road in a Honda CRV when the vehicle left the roadway and began to roll. Karl Corpron, 47, of Selah was following too closely in a Jeep Grand Cherokee, which collided with Shaw’s vehicle. Braun was riding with Shaw.
The cause of the crash was under investigation, but troopers said intoxicants were involved.
Charges were pending.
Both vehicles were considered a total loss. All three occupants were wearing seat belts.
