The state Liquor Control Board has decided that it needs larger venues for its hearings on marijuana regulations.

A forum in Yakima has been rescheduled for Feb. 28 and will be held at the Yakima Convention Center, 10 N. Eighth St, the agency announced Thursday. It had been scheduled for Yakima City Hall.

The forum will start with an open house at 6 p.m. The board will take public testimony between 7:15 and 10 p.m.

Crowds overflowed meeting rooms for earlier sessions in Seattle and Olympia. The Liquor Control Board is charged with developing rules for the state’s marijuana industry, approved when voters passed Initiative 502.

Other forums are scheduled for Vancouver, Spokane, Mount Vernon and Bremerton.
