Two felony charges have been filed against a Yakima woman accused of ramming her boyfriend’s mother’s truck with her car, while her 3-year-old son was with her.
Tabatha Lena Moore, 23, was charged Thursday in Yakima County Superior Court with second-degree malicious mischief and assault in violation of a protection order. She is being held on $50,000 bail.
The charges stem from an disturbance Sunday at a home in the 1000 block of Spokane Street, near Gardner Park in southeast Yakima and Washington Avenue.
According to an arrest affidavit, Moore’s boyfriend told police she was drinking too much and got upset when he tried to hide the alcohol.
The boyfriend and his mother told police Moore attacked the boyfriend, then went outside and began slamming a metal gate into his mother’s 2008 Dodge Ram pickup. A neighbor also witnessed what happened next, according to court documents.
“She then took her 3-year-old son, got into her vehicle, a white Honda, and began repeatedly ramming the truck with her car,” the affidavit said. “She struck the vehicle several times, causing more than $5,000 in estimated damage. Moore then fled the scene in her vehicle with her son still inside it.”
Police located and arrested Moore at a cousin’s home on North 34th Avenue, noting heavy front-end damage to her car, a Honda Civic.
