EASTON — A Mill Creek teenager was rescued by authorities Saturday after he was injured while snowmobiling near Lizard Lake, five miles southwest of the Crystal Springs Sno-Park west of Easton.
About 3:30 p.m., Andrew Ransom, 17, was driving his 2006 Ski-Doo snowmobile for the first time when he wrecked the vehicle, according to a news release from the Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office, sent Monday. It is unclear how he crashed. Authorities said he was wearing a helmet.
Ransom was thrown from the snowmobile and suffered a back injury, the news release said. He was transported to the Crystal Springs Sno-Park in a rescue sled and then transported to Overlake Hospital Medical Center in Bellevue. His condition was not immediately available Monday.
