THORP, Wash. — Interstate 90 has reopened in both directions west of Ellensburg after a short closure because of a fire involving a Washington State Patrol vehicle, an agency spokesman says.
The eastbound closure was at milepost 94, near Elk Heights; the westbound closure was at milepost 101, near Thorp Road.
Trooper Darren Wright says there are no injuries.
The fire was in the patrol car’s trunk, causing concern that ammunition stored there might be a hazard, Wright says.
