YAKIMA, Wash. – A 69-year-old Wapato man who was critically injured Thursday when his car rolled upside down into a canal has died, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Antonio Carmona-Vazquez died 6:30 p.m. Friday at Yakima Regional Medical and Cardiac Center. He had been driving on North Track Road late Thursday afternoon when his 2001 Plymouth Neon drifted into a bridge guardrail and then rolled into the canal, according to a news release issued by the State Patrol.
Neither drugs nor alcohol are suspected to have played a role in the accident.
The accident occurred about 5:20 p.m., about a mile south of Wapato near the intersection with Phillip John Road.
