SELAH, Wash. — A 28-year-old man who allegedly threatened others with a gun was shot three times Saturday evening at a party northeast of Selah, according to the Yakima County Sheriff’s Office.

The man was reported to be in stable condition after undergoing surgery at a local hospital, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.

The incident happened about 9 p.m. in the 900 block of Elton Road, which is located along a pond just east of Interstate 82.

According to the sheriff’s office, the man had allegedly been picking fights with a family at an outdoor party before threatening to shoot an arriving guest. He then went to his vehicle, returned with the gun, raised it and was then shot three times by the man he threatened, the sheriff’s office said.

The man who shot him was described by deputies as a Yakima man with a valid concealed pistol license.

Neither man was identified by name.
