YAKIMA, Wash. — No serious injuries were reported Thursday evening when a small plane carrying a student pilot and instructor flipped over as it was landing at the Yakima Air Terminal.

Authorities said the single-engine plane was hit by a side wind as it was landing about 5:50 p.m. Both occupants were standing by the plane by the time the first responders reached them. Other than a few possible scrapes or bruises, the two were uninjured, authorities said.

The two were flying a 2008 Just Escapade, a small, high-wing light aircraft described as having seating for two.

The names of the two people aboard the aircraft were not available.
