— October is Archives Month in Washington state, and that means the State Archives will be holding open house events at its branches around the state.

The Central branch in Ellensburg is having an open house from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. The open house includes guided tours of the building.

This year’s theme is “Hearing History,” and focuses on the goal of preserving Washington voices through oral histories and other audio recordings preserved by the State Archives and other institutions across the state.

The Washington State Archives’ Central Region Branch is located on the campus of Central Washington University at the northwest corner of 14th and D streets in Ellensburg.
