YAKIMA, Wash. — Want to show something you’ve grown or made in the Central Washington State Fair? Now is the time to plan. All the information on how to enter something in this year’s fair in September is now online.
Besides picking up a ribbon or two, folks who exhibit their baked goods, flowers, livestock, woodworking, photos, sewn items, fruits and vegetables, preserves, homemade beer and more have a chance to win some of the thousands of dollars and prizes for the best entries.
The Fair’s Exhibitor Guidebook is at fairfun.com. The guide tells how, when and where to enter items. It also provides information on contests open for exhibitors, as well as useful tips for bringing home a blue ribbon. Last year the Central Washington State Fair paid out more than $100,000 to exhibitors. Other contests involve pallets, vintage clothing, bottle cap mosaics, duct tape, pin cushions, wind chimes and bucket gardens.
This year’s fair runs from Sept. 20-29.
