ELLENSBURG, Wash. — Three people were injured Saturday when a pickup and a car collided in a U.S. Highway 97 intersection about 19 miles north of Ellensburg.

According to the Washington State Patrol, Monique B. Koth, 40, of Seattle was driving south on the highway about 5:50 p.m. when she attempted to turn left onto Liberty Road and struck a northbound car.

The driver of the 2002 Vokswagen Jetta, Jeffery A. Phippen, 49, and passenger Tina Phippen, 50, both of Leavenworth, were taken by ambulance to KVH Hospital in Ellensburg, the State Patrol said.

A hospital spokeswoman said they were not listed as patients at midday Sunday.

A passenger in Koth’s 2008 Honda Ridgeline pickup, Vann Keo, 36, of Tacoma, was also injured, according to the State Patrol. But no other information was available on him.

The State Patrol said Koth will be cited for failure to yield right of way while turning left.
