— A fire early Saturday destroyed a West Valley home.

Neighbors reported the fire in the 16000 block of Cottonwood Canyon Road around 2:40 a.m., according to the West Valley Fire Department. The home was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived, said Capt. Jim Lange.

The 20 firefighters extinguished the fire in a half-hour but remained on the property for more than four hours to mop up, Lange said.

No one was injured and residents of the home arrived shortly after firefighters.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined and the fire is still under investigation, Lange said.
