TOPPENISH, Wash. — U.S. Highway 97 will reopen at noon today, the state Department of Transportation announced.
Delays up to one hour are expected. A pilot car will take vehicles through a 7-mile stretch of the highway, from the Yakima-Klickitat County line to Satus Pass, according to a DOT news release issued this morning.
The speed limit will be 40 mph between the county line and Allen Road, a 13-mile section.
The highway has been closed for a week due to the Mile Marker 28 fire burning in the area.
