YAKIMA, Wash. — Several of you emailed me in the last few weeks wondering if rumors regarding Red Robin’s plans to relocate its Yakima restaurant were true.

Well, Red Robin is keeping quiet for now.

“I don’t have any information on a potential relocation,” Red Robin spokesman Kevin Caulfield said in a brief phone interview Monday.

For the last several months, rumors have been rampant that the Denver-area burger chain is heading to the former Montgomery Ward site just down the street at 2410 Nob Hill Blvd.

Earlier this month, property owner Fred Meyer confirmed that a developer was looking at the property.

The Yakima location is currently owned by Red Robin, but started out as a franchise — the first one, in fact — when brothers Michael Snyder and Steve Snyder opened the restaurant in 1979.
