YAKIMA, Wash. — Six people suffered minor injuries in a 22-vehicle pileup on Interstate 82 south of Yakima on Friday evening, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Ice in both directions on the Parker Bridges is blamed for causing 14 separate collisions involving the nearly two dozen vehicles.

The accident, reported shortly about 7:15 p.m., shut down that section of the freeway for nearly three hours.

Six people were taken to Yakima hospitals, but all were treated for minor injuries and released, according to the State Patrol.

Julian Y. May, 51, of Federal Way; Quapilla Josefina Venegas, 28, of Yakima; Luis G. Gonzalez, 24, also of Yakima, and Tracy A. Healy, 24, of Snohomish were all taken to Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.

Jorge L. Jeronimo, 57, of Toppenish and Juan C. Jeronimo, 27, of Yakima were taken to Yakima Regional Medical and Cardiac Center.
