ELLENSBURG, Wash. — The Kittitas County Coroner on Monday identified 23-year-old Hector Mejia Villa of Ellensburg as the man who died after being found at Central Washington University suffering from stab wounds.
Police continued their interviews Monday with people who knew Villa.
CWU police officers found Villa at 10:45 p.m. Saturday in a parking lot on D Street, near the university public safety and parking office.
He was taken to KVH Hospital, where he later died. Police are investigating the stabbing as a homicide.
Search dogs and members of Kittitas County Search and Rescue assisted university and Ellensburg police officers to comb the scene for evidence for much of Sunday.
“They don’t have any concrete leads today,” Linda Schactler, CWU’s director of public affairs, said Monday.
