KYLE WAS A SENIOR AND WHITNEY A FRESHMAN when they met at a school dance, but Kyle left for the Navy upon graduation. Years later, and the day after Valentine’s Day (their celebration had been postponed), the couple went out to dinner. Whitney talked about how their friendship lasted through his Navy years, and the subsquent evolution of their relationship. “... I said it has all felt like a dream to me,” says Whitney. Then, in a secluded corner of the restaurant, Kyle got down on one knee and said, “Well you better pinch yourself; will you marry me?” Says Whitney, “It was perfect timing!”
