In this weeks’s edition of Open Mike, Yakima Herald-Republic courts and crime reporter Chris Bristol discusses the history of the 1997 unsolved murder of Selah resident Carolyn Clift and how developments in recent years led to the arrests of two suspects.
Clift, 56, was stabbed to death in her Selah apartment the night of Aug. 28, 1997, but more than a decade passed before suspects were charged in connection to the killing. On Monday, one of those suspects was found guilty thanks to DNA technology and a witness who came forward after Bristol wrote about the case on its 10-year anniversary in 2007.
