Today’s recipe comes from reader Joyce Johnson. Joyce says these are delicious, and they are super simple. If you want your filling a touch sweeter, just add a little more powdered sugar.
Stuffed strawberries
Strawberries
1 package cream cheese, softened
¼ cup powdered sugar
¼ teaspoon vanilla
Cream together cheese, powdered sugar and vanilla until blended.
Stem each strawberry, then slice into an X, being careful not to slice all the way through. Gently allow berry to fall open. Using a pastry bag (or a plastic bag with the tip cut off), pipe the filling into each berry. Top with nuts, if desired.
This recipe reminds me of a super cute picture I saw on my mother-in-law’s Facebook page for Santa strawberries. I reshared it on the Appetite page so you can see them. I think you could use the same filling as Joyce does, but just slice the berry instead of making an X. Adorable and yummy, no matter how you do it.
