If you need to cut gluten out of your life and are confused by the variety of flours and the rules involved in dealing with life without the common protein (it’s found in wheat, rye and barley — and all products made from them), then you need to sign up for this month’s cooking class at La Maison.
The Feb. 22 course will feature Jenny Simmons of Jenny Mae’s Gluten Free Bakery teaching students how to make gluten-free biscuits and a chicken potpie. Salad and a gluten-free dessert will round things off. Seating is limited to 14 students.
The course will be held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 22 and costs $65. If you’ve never taken a La Maison class, I encourage you try one sometime. They are incredibly fun and you get to eat while you cook.
