On this week’s Made in the Valley, we take a trip to the orchards of West Valley where Swede Hill Distilling is turning apples into moonshine.

Although the process isn’t quite as back-country as depicted on television, husband and wife owners Kevin and Pam Milford use modern distilling techniques and fresh apples from surrounding orchards — including their family land — to make the spirits.

“It’s really nice to literally be able to ride my four-wheeler down and get apples that were harvested on the orchards around us,” Kevin said.
