Mexican teacher Lourdes Torres leads a Mexican dance as, from left, Angel Llepes, Esteban Brisena and Adam Rodriquez try to follow along during an assemby at the Mexico in Wapato program in Wapato on Monday, July 8, 2013. The program, now in its sixth year, brings teachers from Mexico and youngsters from the Lower Valley together so the kids can learn the music, dancing, crafts and culture of Mexico. The monthlong program is a cooperative effort between the government of Mexico and the Marie-Rose House in Wapato. This year, a group of high school students from Winnipeg, Manitoba, has been helping with the program. The teachers are from Zacatecas and have volunteered their time to participate in the program. About 95 youngsters from preschool through middle school are taking part in the program this summer.
