SELAH, Wash. — Selah police said they arrested a man Friday for taking a shot at his girlfriend during an argument.

According to a news release, the 43-year-old man and his girlfriend were arguing over property at a residence on South Sixth Street when the man fired two rounds from a 9 mm pistol.

The man then fled the area in a vehicle but was captured minutes later. No one was injured by the gunfire, police said.

The suspect has a lengthy criminal history that includes multiple felony drug cases as well as a robbery conviction in 1987.

He was lodged in the Yakima County jail on suspicion of first-degree domestic assault, brandishing a firearm and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
