WHITE PASS, Wash. — A motorcyclist was killed in a crash on U.S. Highway 12 east of the White Pass summit, one of several injury crashes reported Saturday in Yakima County.
The motorcycle crash occurred at 12:32 p.m. near Milepost 156 and claimed the life of a 53-year-old man from Asotin County, according to the Washington State Patrol, which withheld his name pending notification of next of kin.
The patrol said the man was westbound on a 2006 Yamaha XVS1100 cruiser near the White Pass summit when he hit a guardrail and was ejected from the bike. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Earlier Saturday, at 11:06 a.m., there was a reported rollover on U.S. 12 near the Yakima water treatment plant east of Naches.
At 1:22 p.m., two crashes were reported almost simultaneously: a motorcycle crash on Elk Ridge Lane in the Selah area and a rollover on Interstate 82 east of Zillah. No further information was available about those accidents Saturday evening.
