GOLDENDALE, Wash. — Police have arrested a 26-year-old man suspected of robbing another man of his pickup at knife-point in a McDonald’s parking lot earlier this week.
Yakama Nation police arrested the man in White Swan on Thursday, a day after they recovered the 1993 Nissan pickup in the area, according to a news release issued Friday by the Goldendale Police Department.
The man is accused of taking the pickup from another man Tuesday, and witnesses reported the robber then fled north on U.S. Highway 97.
The man had recently been released from prison, and police were able to identify him using evidence found in the pickup, surveillance from McDonald’s and his picture on file with the state Department of Corrections, the release said.
Police are recommending he be charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree assault, theft of a motor vehicle and second-degree theft.
