A Sunnyside man who has a history of following women into public restrooms was sentenced to 2½ years in prison Tuesday for his third voyeurism conviction.

Victor Manuel Nunez, 47, also was placed on probation for 2½ years for his latest conviction, an incident at the Mid-Valley Mall in Sunnyside earlier this year.

Nunez was arrested June 4 after a 44-year-old woman complained that while she was using the restroom at the J.C. Penney store, a man who had been following her peeked under her stall.

Nunez had two previous convictions for voyeurism, in 2003 and 2008, as well as indecent liberties in 2007. He was sentenced to 15 days of work release on the earlier conviction and 94 days in jail on the second.

One of his previous voyeurism convictions stemmed from an incident at the Valley Mall in Union Gap.

In that incident, Nunez was detained after entering the women’s restroom at Macy’s and peeking under the stall while a female security guard was using the toilet.

In addition to his prison sentence, he is being held on a no-bail immigration detainer.
