GRANGER, Wash. — Two people injured in a one-car accident early Monday are being treated at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
The accident early Monday occurred when the speeding car in which they were riding struck a dirt embankment a mile northeast of here, the Washington State Patrol said.
An accident memorandum identified the driver as Julio Rodriguez, 20, of Grandview. His passenger was identified as Ana Canseco, 15, of Granger.
Both were transported to Yakima Regional Medical and Cardiac Center prior to the transfer to Harborview. Information on their conditions was not available Monday evening.
According to the accident report, Rodriguez was driving a 1990 Honda Accord east on Barker Road about 1:40 a.m. when the vehicle crossed Beam Road and struck the embankment. The vehicle’s headlights were not being used at the time of the accident.
Both occupants were wearing seat belts. The report did not indicate whether drugs and alcohol were involved. The Honda was destroyed.
Charges are pending, the patrol said.
