YAKIMA, Wash. — I didn’t write about it in last week’s On magazine, but I’d be remiss if I completely overlooked an upcoming midweek dance party with a really great subversive name, “Case of the Bass and All That Ch!t.”

The DJ showcase set for Wednesday at The Seasons Performance Hall took its name from the relatively upscale annual fundraiser “A Case of the Blues and All That Jazz,” which is known for providing Yakima’s moneyed smart set an outlet to get tipsy and dance badly. Nothing wrong with that. But “Case of the Bass” is aimed at a bit younger, hipper crowd — the kids who can’t afford to be gold-level donors or whatever and aren’t much interested in that scene anyway.

Regular Yakima Sports Center DJ Mike Henyan, who goes by the nom de turntable Dos Dequis, will spin, as will DJs Databank, Kool P and Tramlife. The evening is hosted by DJ Dom. It’s $10 at the door if you’re wearing “rave attire,” $12 without. You have to be 18 to enter, 21 to drink. The party starts at 9 p.m. The Seasons is at 101 N. Naches Ave. For information call 509-453-1888.
